INTERNATIONAL FLYING INSTRUCTIONS
TO WANGANUI SAFARIS:
Travelling from the United States offers many direct flight options that leave from Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and JFK directly to the Auckland International Airport (AKL), which is your point of entry to New Zealand with our preferred airline, Air New Zealand. Upon arrival into Auckland, you will clear customs and agricultural inspection.
From there, you can walk (10 minutes between terminals), or catch a shuttle bus to the Domestic terminal (bus departs approximately every 15 minutes). You will then fly directly to the Whanganui Airport to get to Wanganui Safaris (note there are two ways to spell Wanganui/Whanganui).

When creating your reservations, please keep in mind that when travelling to New Zealand, you will ‘lose’ a day getting there. For example, if you depart the USA on the 10th, you will arrive in New Zealand on the 12th. On your return trip, if you depart New Zealand on the 20th, you will arrive back in the USA on the 20th.
New Zealand is in the NZST (New Zealand Standard Timezone).

HELICOPTER TRANSFERS
TO WANGANUI SAFARIS:
Helicopter transfers directly from the Auckland International Airport to the ranch can also be arranged upon request for guests wanting a faster and more scenic travel option. We are partnered with a helicopter agency based at the Auckland International Airport. The flight time is around one hour and 30 minutes, and will land directly on our property.
Please inquire directly to our team if this is something you might want to look into doing.
RENTING A CAR AND DRIVING:
Another option to travel to the Wanganui Safaris is to rent a car and drive down from Auckland International Airport.

If renting a car, we recommend booking with Hertz as they have many pick-up and drop-off locations all over the North and South Islands.
Without stopping, the total drive time is about six (6) hours from the Auckland Airport.

There is so much to see and do if you choose to drive to the ranch. This is a fantastic way to see the beautiful North Island full of farms, little towns and must see attractions. We will send you driving directions to get to our ranch located at the end of the beautiful Whanganui River!
